These are remnants, or the small amounts of material left at the end of a bolt of fabric. We measure, pack, and list remnants when we have them, and this means they are limited in quantity and we cannot cut or split a remnant into smaller pieces. Buying remnants helps us get closer to our goal of becoming a zero waste studio.

A gorgeous, lightweight Linen Gauze that has a wonderful texture. The crinkled finish gives the fabric an inherent stretch. It's airy and floaty without being too sheer, hugging the body in slimmer styles and draping beautifully in others. It's lighter than our Midweight Linen but still strong and durable. It will only soften and improve with age, starting out with a coarser finish but with the ability to become more supple and flexible with wear. We love linen because of the natural strength and durability the fiber possesses and because it is a very friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, is hypoallergenic, extremely comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

This yarn-dyed gauze possesses rustic charm and variation, giving it an organic personality.

Suitable for tops, dresses, accessories and home decor projects like curtains. For ease of use, I recommend selecting a pattern a size or two larger than usual, pre-washing the material, pressing out all of the crinkles, cutting and assembling your project, and then re-washing and drying to return the crinkle texture (which will also shrink up the size of the finished project).

Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture can be found, even after processing and dyeing. Color will vary from dye lot to dye lot—if you need consistent color for several projects, order the yardage all at once so that we can give you one continuous cut from the same bolt.

Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced—slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.

Material Details

Fabric: Midweight Linen
Fiber Content: 100% Linen
Weight: 4.42 oz/square yard | 149 GSM
Width: 54"
Care: Hand or machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry hot. Store folded or flat in order to avoid stretching. The crinkled finish is intentional, so do not press. To remove fold creases or wrinkles, lightly steam or toss in the dryer with a damp towel. For best results, prewash fabric before beginning a project. Our Linen Gauze shrinks up to 9% in width and 13% in length on average (on the first wash).
