It’s the sweater version of our favorite Billie Sweater Dress. It strikes me as something my favorite artists from the 1970s would wear on chilly desert nights in Marfa. The drop shoulders and balloon sleeves give a bit of romance to the silhouette, and also allow for generous range of motion. The fabric is the real highlight here—textured, soft, interesting, and warm. Billie is the ultimate fall layering sweater: wear by itself, curled up with coffee at home over your worn-in jeans for those crisp weekend afternoons; or with a pair of pin-straight trousers and a cashmere scarf for a holiday dinner party. Slightly longer in the back than the front for a shirttail-esque shape. More elevated than your average sweatshirt, but less delicate than a knit sweater.
100% organic, low-impact dyed cotton in an unmatchably soft, heavyweight knit that feels like wearing a cloud. With its smooth finish on the interior, and mossy, fleecy finish on the outside, this fabric pairs rich visual interest with ease and comfort.
Made in Florence, Alabama by Alabama Chanin—true experts in cut-and-sew knitwear—in a fleecy, organic cotton dyed with low impact, cold process, environmentally friendly dyes.
Wash on cold, delicate cycle, and lay flat to dry or tumble dry low. Use fingers post-wash to re-fluff any areas that look flattened. Cotton is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.
