Our favorite, essential shift dress. The Georgia is one of the first styles I designed, and the pattern was drafted with universal fit in mind. The shoulder seam and sleeve without an armscye looks intentional on all shoulder breadths, the substantial cuff wings out and draws clean lines on any arm, and the just-above-the-knee length works for just about every body. Perfect on it's own, or my favorite way to wear it: over comfy, cropped pants.

This is the dress version of our Georgia Tee, which was influenced by effortless caftans from the '60s and '70s but with less material and more practicality in mind. I also drew on neat, crisp blouses from the '40s when women started wearing separates to work. Architectural drama and movement paired with structure and simplicity. A dress that can go anywhere and do just about anything.

It hits just above the knee, and the hem dips a bit longer in the back. You can lounge, explore a city, or sprint after a toddler in this dress. Serves as a dress, tunic, or coverup—it's up to you.

Cut from a beautifully textured crinkly linen gauze. It has inherent stretch so it hugs the body beautifully while still retaining drape. Organic and variegated in color and feel.

100% Linen in a lightweight gauze that has a wonderful texture. The crinkled finish gives the fabric an inherent stretch. It's airy and floaty without being too sheer, hugging the body in slimmer styles and draping beautifully in others. It's lighter than our Midweight Linen but still strong and durable. It will only soften and improve with age, starting out with a coarser finish but with the ability to become more supple and flexible with wear. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, and is hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

This yarn-dyed gauze possesses rustic charm and variation, giving it an organic personality.

Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture are not uncommon.

Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced--slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.

Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry hot. Store folded or flat in order to avoid stretching. The crinkled finish is intentional, so do not press. To remove fold creases or wrinkles, lightly steam or toss in the dryer with a damp towel.

Linen is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.

So much thought and care in this dress

This is a beautiful dress, and I love the way I can put it on, and with such ease, feel pulled together, graceful and chic. I have reached for it so many times since the dress arrived just two weeks ago, and I know it will continue to be a staple for me. The lines are just exquisite, as is the fabric, drape and weight. So much thought and care in evidence with this dress and I appreciate it all greatly.

    My favorite dress

I'm so happy I was able to purchase this dress. Over the last several years, I started treating myself each birthday to an ES item, and the Georgia Dress is my absolute fave. The linen gauze is light enough for summer but substantial enough to be opaque (always my worry with linen gauze). The fit is just a dream. I honestly wear a Georgia dress or Harper tee every day, they're so easy and adaptable.

True to Size - Wish it was Oversized

the size wasn’t what i wanted - seems true to size but might be nicer if it were oversized. i would order a size up next time.
