The Elodie Work Belt was first designed and released in 2016. Its concept as a large, asymmetrical pocket was slow to take shape, but once developed, became a quick favorite. I wanted to create a piece that could transform the silhouette of our voluminous, relaxed garments, but also serve a function other than aesthetic. To me, this is a pocket, belt, sash, apron, fanny pack—purely waist defining or a home for your paint brushes, cell phone, or ID. You can add a pocket to a garment without one, or add a layer of interest to an otherwise one-dimensional outfit. It's cut in a triangle, referencing one of my favorite interest-giving shapes, and the angled fabric draws a smooth line across the hips, lengthening the torso.

The Elodie can be tied in the front or back, or on the hip to highlight the large pocket. I love this style worn monochromatically over matching linen dresses and jumpsuits, or paired with a contrasting color and fabric.

Material & Care: Silk Crepe

100% Silk, GOTS and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. Washed Silk Crepe that drapes and moves like liquid. Muted, ultra-soft feel with a barely-there sheen that comes alive with movement. This extremely high-quality silk was developed in a custom, substantial weight and is meant to be worn and loved.

Silk is a natural fiber with inherent breathability and strength. This weave has a finer, more consistent look than some of our other fabrics, but it still has occasional variations. Color will vary from dye lot to dye lot. While silk is a very strong fiber, it is still a natural material that can and will break down over time. To ensure your garment lasts as long as possible, do not wear tighter than intended and pay attention to tension or pressure on the seams.

Machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water and air dry or tumble dry on low heat. Hems, necklines, and sleeves will wrinkle. Press with steam to shape, and they'll return to crisp edges. Ensure that you wash gently and often (oils and bacteria sitting in material for extended periods of time cause premature breakdown, as does too frequent washing at high temperatures).

Silk is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.
